I haven’t participated in Polish Days in quite a while, and I scheduled this post late – sorry!! But I thought my galaxy nails were a good fit for the theme, and I’ve never tried this tech I’ve before! The theme for this month’s Polish Days is Back to Nature. I think the natural assumption would be a out specific weather (ughhhhh winter) but I immediately thought of the stars. I love looking up at the sky on a clear summer night or during a crisp wintry evening. I decided not to go the wishful-thinking-green-spring route, just because it is still very much winter here, and I was feeling in the mood for some darker colors. Plus, I had a work event to go to, and this actually came off looking on the more serious/professional side. So, it worked!

I started with 2 coats of Zoya Storm, and then kind of randomly sponged on Zoya Ziv, Zoya Aurora, Essie Butler Please, Catrice Holo Que Tal?, OPI Servin’ Up Sparkle, and I finished by using a tiny dotting tool to make some of the more visable stars with China Glaze White on White.

I think these came out really well – I find it really interesting to look at, and they totally remind me of galaxies and space and the night sky! And it was super easy, I just used a make up sponge that I tore into small pieces to dab on tiny bits of color. My camera wasn’t totally color accurate – the little stars ended up looking kind of blue in these pictures, when they’re really just pretty white.

Also, I am super glad to be participating in Polish Days again! There are some amazing manicures out there, you should totally check them out! I’ll put the link at the end of the post.

So, what do you think? Have you ever tried this technique? Would you?
