I love this manicure. I love these little glitter pieces (so called glequins). Often, when I’m trying to decried what to do on my nails I stare longingly at my little pots of glitter – but glitter takes a while, and you have to be careful with placement.
I had such a hard time photographing this because the glitter is soon shiny! And also because I used so much topcoat – soooo reflective! I started with 3 coats (er… Actually maybe it was 2, I can’t remember) of Essie Midnight Cami, a gorgeous blue so dark it is almost black. Then, one nail at a time, I applied topcoat and used a toothpick to place the individual glequins. I sealed the whole thing off with a few more coats of topcoat – those suckers weren’t goin anywhere!
I love how the glitters line up to make a honeycomb kind of look! I think I need some more practice placing the pieces evenly – I swear I was coss-eyed by the time I was done!

I also thought it would be fun to have the bands of glitter be different width, making different sized stripes of flashy gold. I think this turned out very prettily, even kind of classy! But still really fun.
Yu can see the blue much better in this picture. Have you used these tiny glitter pieces before? What do you think?
That’s gorgeous, you have so much patience!
Thanks!
