31DC2013 Day 10: Gradient Nails
I so thought this day was going to be my favorite prompt – as you may know (if you read this blog) that I have a slight obsession with gradients. I brainstormed a ton of ideas: textured gradients, magnetic gradients, gradients using metallics or other difficult polishes. And I tried them all! I tried a gazillion things, and I hated them all. Blech. I don’t know, they seemed to thick, too subtle, didn’t blend. So I ended up just picking three cremes and doing a more standard kind of gradient. That being said, I love how this turned out. Yay bright colors!
I started with a coat of China Glaze White on White (what else but?). Then I used Liquid Palisade to create a barrier around my cuticles. On my makeup wedge, I painted three stripes: China Glaze White on White, Jessie’s Girl Wild Thing (seriously, why don’t I use this polish more?), and Sation Miss Emo Shun All. After sponging that on, I topped it off with China Glaze Fairy Dust. And thus, a gradient was born.
